Three tips to help you live in your house while it’s on the market.

Is it possible to live in your house while it’s on the market? Your home has always been your sanctuary, your one true personal space, but now it’s listed for sale and will soon get a ton of foot traffic. This can get very stressful and make it difficult to continue living your normal life in your house, especially if you have young children. So here are three tips to help you continue living your life in your for-sale home and keep things a bit less hectic:

1. Decluttering. What things are not serving you any further in your life and don’t need to be packed up to go to the next property? Finding trash and getting it taken out of the house lightens the load of moving to a new house and makes it a better experience.

2. Donations. Find the things in the house that are in good shape. If you don’t want or need to take them with you, donate them to a nonprofit organization for a tax write-off.

3. Involve the kids. Incentivize the kids to participate in packing with a reward. This will help cut down on the chaos.
